Market Direction
It’s the management that helps good businesses sail through tough times. In good times, all companies in a sector that has tailwinds do well, but in bad times, “Men get separated from the Boys”.
Underlying Cash flows
We not only look for growth but also for good free cash flows in the companies. Companies that continue to grow using their internal cash accruals and that do not depend on borrowed capital.
Scalability
We look for companies that have a big addressable market and clear tailwinds backing them up.
Terminal Growth rate
We avoid companies which are losing market share or are on verge of extinction.
High growth
We prefer buying companies that can grow their PAT at 20/25%+.
Allocation of Capital
Generated cash should ideally be redistributed in a way that increases efficiency and in turn increases shareholders wealth.
Valuation
We look for high growth companies that are trading below their intrinsic value. “It’s far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price. - Warren Buffet”
Earnings predictability
We only invest in companies wherein we could predict earnings of the company for the next 2-3 years.
